Congrats Susan & Japhet!!

We were at the wedding yesterday of my friends Susan and Japhet and it was a fantastic day! Susan looked stunning and Japhet scrubbed up alright too! their daughter Predine looked gorgeous but she was always going to steal the show! Here's Susan and Japhet having their first dance!Emily also got to do a bit of smooching on the dancefloor with a very dapper looking Harry! His twin Ewan kept trying to muscle in but Harry was having none of it. All the kids were happy to pose together afterwards though!

Anyway, it was a lovely day and it was great for us all to get really dressed up and go to a proper do!!

Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!!

We've had a lovely day today. Rob took a day off and we went on a good old family outing to Chester Zoo!The kids absolutely loved it, Emily's favourite was the lion as she was convinced that the male they had there was Aslan from Narnia! He was a very vocal boy and did lots of roaring, and also prowled around the fence so we got a good look at him.Xander's favourite was the penguins and ducks, he seems fascinated with anything with wings! He particularly took a shine to one duck who started pecking away at his pram!We finished the day with a boat trip through the zoo, which was great (and a good opportunity for pesky duck chasing!). At the end, we bought Emily an Aslan and Xander his very own penguin!

Standing On My Own 2 Feet!!

So, we finally got a picture of Xander standing on his own! At the time we were trying on his wellies and I walked him into the room to show Rob and I let go and he just stood there. Yay Xan!! Typical that he couldn't find any puddles to splash in!

Piggies!!

We've had a lovely afternoon today! We went out with Emily's best friend from school, Hattie and her mum Caron and little brother Isaak. We had a trip up to Temple Newsam Farm and, though we couldn't feed the animals etc because of the foot and mouth outbreak, we had a lovely time. The best part was the baby animals there. There were little ducklings and some week old piglets. Anyway, here's a few pics, Emily and Hattie watching the ducklings, Xander and Isaak catching up on baby talk, and the little piggies!!

Getcha Head In The Game!

Oooh, long time no blog! Didn't realise it had been over a week so here's a quick update!

Yesterday, we went to Xscape in Castleford to see the High School Musical 2 tourbus. Well, it absolutely pelted it down so we got soaked but Emily was so excited that she actually got to see the bus and the cheerleaders and basketball players! Me, well I'm just soggy! Here's a pic of Emily and her friend Milli by the bus!
Today we've had Ally and Elise down for a playdate. We were supposed to be going on a picnic but it was a bit too chilly so we had it in the living room instead! Then we took the kids to the park and the girls had a great time as you can see! There's only 4 weeks now until my baby boy turns 1! He's going through a growth spurt at the moment, he won't stop eating and sleeping and suddenly looks like a little boy rather than a baby. Next thing I know he'll be graduating and getting married! (Yeah, like any woman will ever be good enough!!)

Bickies!!

We had Laura and Evie over on Friday and we went swimming. The bubbas had a great time splashing each other and throwing the ball to each other. Anyway, Laura and I were talking about how you needed chips and ketchup after swimming so we called and got some oven chips for lunch on the way home. Anyway, I though may aswell get hung for a whatnot as a doodah and got some chocolate chip cookies too. But, as we sat down with a nice brew and the pack of Maryland, 2 sets of baby blues widened! So, we let them have a cookie each. Well, I THINK they may have eaten some, but judging my the amount of chocolate on their faces, hands and my carpet, I'm not sure!!

Life's Just Peachy!!

So, we've discovered that Xander likes peaches...ALOT!!! We went to my friend Susan's house yesterday and had a lovely afternoon in the garden. Anyway, my other friend Jill brought some peaches along and Xander grabbed one and started munching away. Couldn't get the thing off him and he kept making all these little 'Mmmmmmm' noises! He was covered in juice once he's finished and it too several baby wipes to clean him up, but he was a happy little bunny afterwards!

Today's big news is, that after a 2 month dry spell, I've actually done some scrapbooking! The challenge this week was to use a lot of journalling that told a story about the picture. I've been wanting to scrap this pic of the kids for ages and I'm really pleased with it! I also received some lovely material through the post from eBay to make more patchwork quilts! So, going to start on the next one this week!

Snug As A Bug In A Rug!!

OK, bit of a pic laden post today, but I can't decide which photos to put up so I'm posting them all!

I finished Xander's quilt and bumper yesterday and I'm really please with it, especially as it's the first time I've done patchwork! As you can see, Xander seems to like it too, even if it is too warm to use it yet!

We've been over them there hills today to visit Marie, Gracie and Ewan. We managed to get away with not too much arguing from the girls, and Ewan and Xander seemed quite fascinated with each other. Xan did keep grabbing Ewan's hair, eye etc, but then did give him loves and going 'Aarrrhhh!', the boy just needs a happy medium! Anyway, it was lovely to see them all and the kids slept all the way home so I got a peaceful hour out of it too!

Biker Chicks!

Sorry for lack of blogging lately, but things have been hectic round here with keeping Emily entertained and I've had a stinker of a head cold!

Emily had a lovely time in Scarborough with Grandma and Grandad and luckily the weather turned sunny just in time for them, so she got to spend lots of time on the beach building sandcastles and trying to dig to Australia!

On Monday we went to Ripon to see Ally and Elise and we had a lovely afternoon in the park, with the girls running through the paddling pool. Xander also dipped his toes in and thought that was great! Unfortunately, my cold was in full swing so I spent most of the day trying not to sneeze on anyone! Also couldn't cuddle Elise which was disappointing as we have some great snuggles!

Yesterday we had a day at home so went to the park, the shops and the library. Emily's really excited as we got her an audio book which we started listening to in the car. We got Roald Dahl's The Witches and she thinks it's hilarious!

Today we've been for a picnic in the park with my friends Jane and Maureen and their girls Jessica, Annabel and Alyssa. The girls all took their bikes (see pic) and had lots of fun riding round in circles while me, Maureen, Jane and Xander relaxed on a picnic rug! They then spent a good couple of hours in the playground and, I don't know about the other girls, but Emily's out like a light tonight!

Tomorrow we're going swimming, then on Friday we're nipping over the Pennines to see my friend Marie (the one of cupcake fame!!) and Gracie and Ewan. Emily's really excited about seeing Gracie and it'll be interesting to get Xander and Ewan together as they're both zooming around like billy-o so I think Marie and I will be kept on our feet!

So, busy busy busy! Looking forward to a sleep in September!!
