And Finally...The Wedding Photos!

After days of promising, here's a few of the best of the wedding pics:

And The Bride Wore...

... a lot of novelty items!

OK, not for the actual wedding (pics will be up this weekend, promise!) but it would seem between us we had bought half of eBay's fancy dress items! First of all there were the array of pirate outfits on the first night. Then, the morning after the wedding, Gemma graced us poolside with this get-up: My sister's a Mrs, sniff!
We then had a night with official Tate Match tshirts. Everyone had the same but G&D got special ones:

And the final night was Hawaii night, complete with Hawaiian shirts and garlands:
and special all singing-all dancing flashing ones for the bride and groom:

Emily took her hula outfit:

And Xander his special mini Hawaiian shirt:

Roger borrowed Ellie's grass skirt but I'm not convinced he got the hang of it:

Between all that and wedding outfits, I'm surprised there was any room in the cases left for actual real clothes!

The Most Picturesque Hairdressers In The World?

Now, I love going to my hairdressers. I've known her for years and we always have a good chat, plus I get to drink coffee and read magazines which is a luxury these days. However, all I get to stare at is my ugly mug in the mirror!

On holiday, we let Emily have her hair braided (and it served a practical function keeping it out of her face!). It took an hour as her hair's so long but look at the hairdressers my daughter got to sit in!

Now that's a much better view than my unmade up face I can tell you!

Em looked cool afterwards:

So much so that Ellie and the girls' new friend Bliss had their's done too:
As the braider had so much custom from us, she insisted on doing Xander a free braid!
What a cool little rasta dude!

My Fave Holiday Pic

Well, apart from the wedding pics that is (which will be on here soon, I promise!).

This pic was taken on our second night in Antigua and I love it! The kids went to play on the beach (which the bar overlooked) and they just seemed so happy to be there!

A few other faves of the kids. This one was taken on our Hawaiian themed night and has the kids with the other bridesmaid Ellie:

Me and Em enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail (OK, hers was fruit punch, but she liked to pretend! Mine was NOT fruit punch!):

Xander loved the pool, especially when we found this inflatable taxi for him to play in:

And finally, on the way home, Xander's rather unconventional way of sleeping on a plane!

Right, I suppose I should actually come back down to earth now and do some work. Boo! Or I could just go and book another holiday...hmmmm....

The View!

One thing that certainly lived up to expectations in Antigua was the scenery, it was gorgeous! Even when it rained it looked idyllic and, with my son being an early riser all week, I got to see some beautiful sunrises down on the beach!

Pirates of the Caribbean!

So, first day of the holiday. We had quite a good journey (despite the 4am start!), no delays and the plane journeys although 8 hours, didn't seem too long. When we got there, we were straight into cossies and down by the pool, indulging in the free beers and cocktails and meeting the rest of our party.

Because of changes in flights etc we really had to have hen and stag nights that first night so we weren't hungover for the wedding. So, as Gem and Dave aren't the 'tied to a lampost with your eyebrows shaved' sort, we opted for a surprise Pirates of the Caribbean night. Lots of secret emails have been passed around in the last few weeks but it all came together and the pirate outfits all made it!

Lots of pics this week so here's a slideshow!

More tomorrow!

AMAZING!!

That was THE best holiday ever! I'm knackered after having no sleep since Friday night, I'm covered in mosquito bites and have sunburn but who cares - it was an amazing holiday! Thanks to all these people:

A lot of whom I'd never met before but who have made it a wonderful week!

More posts this week but for now, my bed is a-calling!

1 1/2 Sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who remembers this post?

This post was when it was 15 months away and now...it's 1 1/2 sleeps away! How on earth did that happen?!

Am I ready? NO! Am I packed? NO! Is my assignmnet done and ready to post? NO! In 2 days time will I care? NO!

So, think of me at the weekend won't you, I'll be here:

I am also informed that, if anyone fancies seeing me in complete holiday mode, then we should be on here, Monday evening between 9.30 and 10pm (UK time) for wedding cake and champagne. Should be, er, intersting!

Viva Antigua!!

The Results Are In...

...a couple of weeks earlier than thought and the envelope sat on the hall table all day as I never noticed it was there. But, I eventually opened my exam results...

86%!!!!!!!

(oooh, wish I could make it flash!)

To say I'm in shock is an understatement, most people score a good 10-20% less than on their assignments on exams, but I seem to have gone up 5%!

Just the other bugger to pass now! ;)

Hey Lady! You Wanna Buy Mimi?

Picture of the day! My son decides he needs some form of headgear to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Definately has a dodgy gringo look to him don't you think?! (Note he has his fearsome puppy at hand incase the bartering of mimis goes pearshaped!)

How's That For A Quick Turnaround?

So, I go from taking 7 1/2 years to scrapping something like Emily's birth, to 2 days to scrapping the first of Laura's wedding pics! Mind you, it could be argued I supposed that it's actually taken me 28 years to scrap the other picture!

After uncovering the old photos last week, I managed to get a 'now' pic on Saturday and so sat down yesterday with my new shiny birthday kit and scrapped this:

I just love the contrast!

Right, just a quickie, I have a horrible head cold so am taking myself off to bed.
